The Stranger – Harlan Coben

I should probably try and read all of Harlan Coben‘s books, eventually. I somehow forget how great of an author he is from time to time. The Stranger offers an intriguing, yet frightening prospect. This random guy approaches you. He knows a dirty little secret about someone that you love. He drops his little truth bomb, then walks away, leaving you to decide what to do with the information, and to clean up the pieces of your now shattered world.

The secrets vary from person to person. In the case of our main character, Adam Price, the secret involves his wife Corinne. Adam and Corinne have been raising two boys in suburban bliss; she is a teacher, and he is a lawyer. They love each other and obsess about the boys playing lacrosse. All seems perfect in their little world until The Stranger comes calling.

This book is a wild ride, and disturbing on a multitude of levels. The loose ends come together seamlessly, and this is a tale that could definitely happen. Right now. You will question everyone’s motives, and maybe start looking around in your own life and wondering what deep dark dirties folks you know are hiding. This one is a page turner and a core shaker, to be sure.

Pats to my own back for the like Mr. Coben threw me on Instagram. I am going to keep trying to up my book photography game!
