50 Books In 2016

Apparently, one huge perk of retirement is that I have a lot more time to read. The goal for reading 50 books in one calendar year has been there for quite some time. 2016 will go down as the year I finally met that goal. Here are my top five that I read last year (not that they were necessarily published in 2016, that’s just when I got my greedy little reader hands on these books.)

Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll

Season of the Witch by David Talbot

The Real Doctor Will See You Shortly by Dr. Matt McCarthy

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

When Breath Becomes Air by Dr. Paul Kalanithi

Bonus picks: for the funny I loved Amy Schumer’s The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, The Hours by Michael Cunningham for my Pulitzer Challenge, and the YA novel by Ransom Riggs Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

Honorable mention: Not for the stories, but these were my favorite book pics for the year. I continue to try and up that photography game!
