Super Cheese – Stone Soup Cafe

Basically, the only way to get me through a day of resort wear shopping for my honeymoon is to dangle a sandwich like a carrot on a stick at the end of the trail. (The sandwich gal abhors all things shopping related.) Thankfully for my mother, Stone Soup Cafe and Pub was the end to a fruitful Saturday. I love this place; I remember visiting this St. Pete staple long before I moved to Florida in ’96. They have recently remodeled the inside and the look is classy and comfortable. I went for the 1/2 salad and 1/2 sandy combo. The Super Cheese boasts Provolone, Swiss, Cheddar, Sprouts, Tomato, Parmesan, Spinach, Honey Mustard all on Swirl Bread. The 1/2 sandy is huge! At $6.25 it is a steal of a deal. My mom went with the Egg Salad special and Italian Wedding soup. (In honor of the big event?!)

I have never had a bad meal here and the staff is always helpful, quick, and friendly. So, the next time you need a shopping break or a quaint place to discuss wedding plans, head over to Stone Soup.

***Update***

I usually bring out of town guests here. It is also one of my go-to places for a ladies’ lunch. My Dad and Stepmother came to Florida recently, and we enjoyed a lovely meal before heading over to Sunken Gardens.

Tuna Melt

Triple Salad

Chicken Caesar, with Ranch

1/2 Kristy’s Special and salad

I have pretty much eaten everything on the menu at this point. I am thinking about heading over there right now, in fact.

I want a Super Cheese sandwich!!! I don’t know if you are aware that I’m a bit of a grilled cheese sandwich connoisseur…

It was not grilled…but it was delightful. Big fan of the cheese.
