After our first dance lesson, the husband and I headed to The Colonnade.
This was due in part to its proximity to our lesson, the state of hunger we were in, and one of the best views in Tampa Bay.
After shoveling in some tasty mini muffins that were brought to the table and some delicious hush puppies that we ordered, I went with the Fresh Grouper. It was a beast. The grouper was super fresh and fried to perfection. It came on a perfectly toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce. Tartar sauce is one of my favorite sandwich glues, so I was delighted to slather it on. The clam chowder is also a must.
According to our waitress, it is one of Tampa Bay’s best Grouper Sandwiches. I concur, fine lady. The mean age in this 70 year old restaurant is 65. I like to think of this as “Old School Date Night”….I better go and practice that Rumba so I can work off that meal.
