Deception – Denise Mina

Mar 13

This book is by Scottish author Denise Mina.  It reads like a true crime novel, with the premise being that the author finds the “diary” of the husband of a convicted murderer.  The husband is the protagonist.  I started off feeling really sorry for him.  He is married to a criminal psychologist who, apparently, falls for a serial killer, then murders him.  There are lots of twists and one pretty decent shocker.  By the end of the book I thought the husband was a giant douchebag.  I learned from this book:  don’t marry a man with no backbone and don’t write down your deepest, darkest secrets.
