Blackened Steak Sandwich

After a long day of getting my classroom ready for the new school year and surviving a stressful doctor’s appointment, I needed to kick back with a sandwich. I remembered my co-worker and friend Alicia mentioning going to Fresco’s Waterfront Bistro. Fresco’s is right on the waterfront in downtown St. Petersburg. It is adjacent to The Pier. We were already sweaty from moving things all day, so we chose to sit outside. What a gorgeous view!

After ordering a Margarita sans salt (and then it came with salt; I never send anything back as I live in fear of drinking or eating something “Special” from a bartender or chef), I wiped the salt off and got to the business of studying the menu. The blackened NY Strip Steak was topped with Provolone AND Cheddar, caramelized onion, mushrooms, and some tangy barbecue sauce on a toasted hoagie roll. Delicious. My side of pasta salad was good. Fresco’s is a little overpriced, but it is worth it for that view. I am sure I will need another Fresco’s date soon.
